How to stop the broodiness?

Okay so it's not a chicken, but a duck, although I suspect two of my chickens are also doing this...
To prevent snakes from eating my eggs and baby chicks I put golf balls in the nests, but and now that they are in there for a little while my duck and possibly two chickens started to go broody. This is the first day since my duck started showing signs of broodiness that she hasn't laid an egg. How do I get her to stop that and start laying again?

Lock her away from her nest.

Put her in a pen for a day or two with no roost- just water and food. That should break her cycle of brooding.

Destroy the nest and remove the golf balls. Collect eggs daily.
