How To Take Better Photos Of Your Chickens

I am jealous of your profile pic! Is that your chicken, he is pretty! I have always wanted an Ayam Cemani, but I don't have to room, or need for more then the 15 chickens, plus 9 ducks I already have! Lol!
thank you, yes he is an AC. Unfortunately we had a bad winter and his comb got frost bitten and he lost his spikes so he’s a little less majestic now.

Thanks Jolenesdad, you’re post would do great as an article too.

Special effects?
Against you’re rules but sometimes fun to do: too much of something.
Do you know the Milka brand for chocolate bars? View attachment 2344799

After. I (quickly) adjusted to 1/3, the light and used a purple filter to create a milka bull:

I love Milka chocolate! But yeah that is not a bull, it's a cow.

One problem, it isn't a bull. Bulls don't have udders.
Dutch udders look like this:

So I thought the purple lady was a bull. :oops:Maybe she’s a young teenager or Swiss cows have tiny udders.:idunno

Thanks for the tips! I tried some out on old pictures taken this summer. The contests I've seen here say to keep editing to a minimum 🤷‍♀️ Anyways here are my results with before/afters. The camera settings take some pictures with high contrast, I probably should have toned some of that down...

These look fabulous!!!! I don’t mind the contrast in these images at all!

the first image with the blue tarp over it you could still add some warmth if you wanted to that photo to get closer to what she looks like in real life. Blue is a “cool” tone so that cast can be offset more by adding more warmth.

Yay thanks! I guess I'm a little behind on the times because all these phone apps and their presets confuse me. I use photoshop elements for editing, went a bit crazy for a vintage look and lowered the saturation on the entire picture. This is what it looks like with only adjusting the saturation for blue/cyan and a few touchups with the color replacement brush.

I just had to look it up, lol. She has small udders. It depends on the breed of the cow, but of course she’s purple so, it’s kinda hard to tell what she is. Except delicious, that is certain. Maybe. I do think I remember Milka tadting better when I was a kid in Europe than what is sold in the states now.
Thoughts?
