I think what bothers most people in the breeding and dog sports world is that most have gotten dogs from several backgrounds. Many responsible breeders rescue and or support rescue. Many dogs who participate in dog sports (I'm using this example because I participate in them and know many people who do.) have come from many sources, breeders, shelters, rescues, etc. So while these people support rescue, it seems in some cases the favor is not returned. If you buy you're made to look like a shelter dog killer (See some of the peta ads. ) Maybe someone wants a dog with a
certain size or temperament or bred to do certain jobs, and you stack the deck in your favor when you get from a known source or background.
Thankfully we are able to choose where we get our next dog (And rescue seems to be in now), and the reasons why and hopefully it will stay that way. And neither side will criticize the other and all will work for better care and homes for all dogs.
