Today I am going to get a few ducklings from a friends farm

I want to keep Pekin Ducks.

But they have white Muscovy and Pekin ducklings all mixed up in one pen!!!

Is there a way to tell the Pekin Ducklings apart from the Muscovy Ducklings?

How old are the ducklings? Pekins are yellow when little, Muscovies can be different colors. Wait, wait, you wrote white Muscovies…..

Perhaps @Going Quackers or @Miss Lydia or some of the other 'scovy folks can check in, here. I know each of them has had Muscovy ducklings around.

I am not an expert, but seems to me their little feet and bills can look different from Pekins.

Well seeing as muscovy ducklings are born later than that of pekin the pekin ducklings should look more mature and grown more than that of the muscovy ducklings

But that is of no use if the muscovys were born before the pekin ducklings so sorry this might have not been so helpful.

The offspring can produce some very nice looking ducks but you can not use them for breeding because they will be sterile.
We had a few here before and they grow pretty big fast.

look at the bill onthese Muscovy ducklings no other duckling has this so you should be able to tell the difference between a Pekin and Muscovy duckling pretty easy. Mallard derived ducks bills are round at tip Muscovy's have the little hook. Please post pics when you get them.

Great... this is a very good way for me to tell the difference... I am so happy!!!

She was not free today.. to I am going tomorrow... so excited. I am in Thailand and its been so hard for me to get Pekin ducks. They are mostly Muscovy ducks here, or some kind of buff / brown duck with a black bill.

All her Muscovy ducks are pure white.. same as the Pekin ducks... and she told me they are all mixed ages in one big pen on her farm.

I am confident I can tell the difference now!!!

Thank you so much.
