We have. Though he's still not roosting the hens at night.If you get rid of, or separate, the silky, your main guy may step up again with no competition for the "top rooster" spot.
I agree. It was heart broken to see him not acting like himself. Wasn't getting food, wasn't out with his ladies, was staying in the coop in a nesting box all day and night, acting really depressed.Sometimes, a juvenile rooster will begin to attack and fight an older rooster for the lead spot. Some birds can deal with that, some cannot, and it can be rather horrible to have an honored rooster, shamed and beaten up.
