Hi! So recently I was giving my birds all their monthly baths because I have had a problem with mites in the past, but today I saw that some of my birds had rough looking feet, it isn't that bad but it still has me worried, most of my birds are booted so I can't really see there feet the one I could see the best I noticed peeling skin and what looked to be scabs on the bottom of her feet. I got worried and did a little research and I believe it to be scale mites. Someone told me to treat them with petroleum jelly but I have no idea what to do, do I put it on the bird's feet and leave her be or do I put it on her feet and wrap it up, this is probably happening to most of my birds because I have a lot of booted girls and they are more likely to have it.

I'm begging you! Please tell me what to do!

Do you have a picture? Yes I do recommend Vaseline or petroleum jelly. I’m not sure to wrap it or not, I do think you might want to separate the individual But I’ve never dealt with it before 🤷🏼‍♀️

How has she been doing?
All in all she's doing fine, the scabs seem to go away and return randomly, it might help to mention that I regularly give them garlic in their water to repel mites and I spray there perches down with an apple cider vinegar water solution once weekly to make sure they don't get any bugs, I'm also that I recently treated them for a very minor might infestation (I caught it when there were only a few on the birds when I was washing my cochins for a show) and I treated and and got rid the bugs immediately.

These scabs looks as if she was roosting on something with a sharp edge, maybe some metal (coop roof or metal fence or similar).
You could check the roosting bars in their coop for sharp edges too.
You where right! I just went outside and checked, I recently removed their wooden purchase because they were getting old and replaced it with a metal ladder perch I bought offline- it looks as if they had been picking the paint off the metal ladder perch and it's been cutting their feet!! I'm going to remove the metal ladder perch and build them New wooden perch! Thank you so much again!!

With the sharp edged metal perch out of the way, they will heal just fine. :)
