How to update subject line

I've seen posts where it shows the regular topic & then what appears to be an UPDATE after it. How can I do that to avoid a new thread based on an old thread?

Click "edit". It's between "report" and "quote" in the lower right hand corner of your post.

You have to be the poster who originated the thread to have that option.

You need to click "edit" in your original post. You can then reply to the thread and post an update on a later page...
