how well are your chickens laying?

My pullets just started.laying. out of the 12 girls that should be laying, I get any where between 4- 7 a day. Which to me, is good since I don't use lighting. The only girls that aren't laying is my Spitzenhaubans, they really aren't winter layers.

I weigh them and put it against what a large egg should weigh, divide by 2 and add 36. Simple.

But in reality you take a months number of eggs, lets say 334 eggs and divide that by the number of days in the month, say 31 would be 10.8 a day. If you want to figure how many per bird a month you divide # eggs by number of birds. So 334 divided by 16 = 20.8 eggs each.

I have 9 barred rocks that just started laying January 13 and they are alternating 6 eggs one day 7 the next...they are laying at 72% with no light, pepper or any other stimulus. My only question right now is, are all 9 laying or only 7? I guess there is no real way to know.

Mine are still kinda slacking :(

The weather has been mild with only a few snowy frozen days, lots of rain and gray skies. I have 8 girls and am only getting on average 1 egg a day. There are some days where I get two, but that's maybe one day a week.

i have 22 layers 7 golden comets 2 rhode island reds and 9 white leghorns all are march 2011 hatch. i get 10- 16 eggs a day from this bunch with no added light in the coop. my 4 other birds are easter eggers and they are over a year old and are on winter break. no eggs from them this winter.

We seem to be getting about 4.5 eggs per day on average.

We have 6 leghorn hens and 2 bantam hens.
The bantams lay eggs in bunches, so sometimes we get several eggs from them in a week, and then they don't lay an egg for 2 weeks!

For it being winter, they seem to lay eggs quite well! But, we do have a light

on and heat there water if it gets below zero, as the water freezes SOLID!

Averaging 27 eggs/day from 14 pullets, some laying, some not, and 45 hens.

Can't wait until spring. We may need another refrigerator.

DH is threatening to warm up the incubator our nephew gave us a few weeks ago.

Cool down the fridge and warm up the bator, it's going to be a busy spring.

I have 4 hens and am getting 1 egg most days, some days I get lucky and get 2. My BR's are still dormant though I am hoping they will start laying again in the next couple of weeks.
