How were cows killed before there was guns?

Hi everyone! :frow
I am posting this thread for @cluckmecoop7. She is wondering how cows were killed before there was guns. Does anybody out there know?

I assume they were probably just speared to death or shot with a bow and arrow, right?

Thank you,
Elly and Clucky ( @cluckmecoop7 )

I think spears, knives, arrows or anything along that line. Many years ago I read a series of book by Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neil Gear, called the People series. The novels were fiction based on finds in their anthropological digs, as both Gears were anthropologists. A fascinating series that described the way the original indigenous peoples came to America and how they survived. Fair warning, there are some gruesome, graphic details about their lives that I would have to skim or skip, and you may too. But if @cluckmecoop7 wants to know how they hunted and brought down cows, this is one way to learn.
