We sure are. I saw myself looking back at me in the mirror this morning and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a mirage.

Sam my dear, I am talking about REALLY old people. Over 90..... You have a ways to go before you fall in that category, though I would love to be around at ANYTIME.

the oldest resident is 104 and the youngest is 60

60???? Shame on that family, unless of course there is dementia involved, then I dont blame them. Dementia is difficult at best.

stroke... Hemiplegia

I'd be getting the patients names and calling their families to let them know how they were being treated and taken care of!! That's shameful!!

I was a CNA for 6 years finally had enough of how some other CNA's did there jobs. I understand where you are coming from.

I gave them my 2 weeks notice... got all my shifts covered for those 2 weeks... 5am this morning they are calling me.... wondering where I am

they have not covered any of the shifts after the 2 weeks... now i feel bad because its the residents who will suffer..

The residents will suffer whether you cover those shifts or not. Your license is on the line, along with your conscience. Report, report, report. I would go back to work if just to access files and notify family. What a horrible situation. I wonder if the director would say if you took a poopy wash cloth with you to your meeting and wiped her face with it. THEN let's talk about patient standards of care. wear gloves that have already "seen action" and pat her on the head and shoulder. Cup her chin in your gloved hand... how would she like it? How would she like to be in the hallway and have her skirt thrown up over her head and her skivvies pulled down to the ground? I'd be asking her THAT!!! I don't know any law against notifying family of poor care so they can pan accordingly.

It would depend... My husband called me at work once, told me he had "the best news ever!" He'd been playing the lottery... In that split second, I was already getting my time card out, and heading to the timeclock, after that, I was just gonna walk away... (I worked in a factory) then he said, I just won $1000.00! Oh, I was so disapointed! I would have been really happy had he not said "best news ever!" That is "good news!" Not the best news ever... But, if I won big, thats how I'd quit... Just clock out and walk away!
