***UPDATE****

I did it.... i QUIT

I told them that I have another job offer .. a full time position... and then I "inquired" about the standard of care... she knows all about it and it does not seem to bother her... she said they are on the edge of the ministry standards and honestly they cant afford to pay everyone to do the job up to "my" standards... it would take to long and she would need to hire more people and she cant afford that...

You did the right thing. I'm not familiar with Ontario, but if if there is an adult protective services or a senior care ombudsman (or department of human/social services) I'd report it. IMMEDIATELY. These people are being ABUSED according to standards of care.

It's not an easy place to be in.

I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse studying for my RN, btw.

I used to be the Administrator for an Assisted Living facility. It is not easy work at all, and if you are leaning toward geriatric care, my hat goes off to you!!! Old people are so real. They have a lot to teach us and we should listen.

awww thanks guys...

Cindyloowoo: yes I do have another job lined up.. I have been working at the second job all week its doing private home care I can set my own hours and only work M-F 9-5 If I want.. but because those are prime hours i wont get full time hours... so i do the early shift... from 530am - 230pm .. and if i get called in and they ask me to cover cause someone called in sick.. i get time and a half no matter what for that call

Sam my dear, I am talking about REALLY old people. Over 90..... You have a ways to go before you fall in that category, though I would love to be around at ANYTIME.
