how'd I get a turkey

I can just picture a hen mother a big turkey. Well, at least you have Dinner for Easter Celebration.

No. I have bronzes and love them for not being 'dumb' turkeys.

Are yours Broad breasted bronzes or just bronzes. My BBB was smart as a box of rocks (especially while young) but then again, the Giant White made that BBB look smart.

I also have bronze (standard) and don't believe them to be dumb at all. The hen is quite a character and you can't help but love her.

I've noticed at our feed store at times that they mix chickens and turkeys.

I smiled one day as I watched a family pic out three chicks for their back yard and I knew one of them was a turkey. I didn't have the heart to tell them because it seemed like it took so long to pic the ones they got. Can you imagine in 3 months... "Wow that chicken Jimmy picked out is getting huge!"

I'm still smiling.

Turkey chicks look so different from chicken chicks!! I'm amazed they substituted a turkey.... Interesting though, must have been meant to be.

For a while??? Mine walked around with a daft expression on their faces until the day I crated them and took them to the processor.

So true.

Well, not for my wild jake. He's VERY intelligent. You can tell domesticating some animals really scrambled their brain cells.

My blue slate is a bit more with it than the BB Whites my neighbor raised for the holidays. But he's still a turkey with limited room in his noggin for brain matter.

I've Royal Palms hatching on Tuesday, I'm curious to see if they're any brighter.

By the way, if you want to part with your turkey........I'd trade every guinea in my pen for a turkey.
