New to the site and raising chickens! I am no stranger to rural life but have only ever had dogs and cats before. We just moved onto an acreage and have begun building our little barn yard with a couple of lambs, calves and now 17 baby chicks! I am looking forward to learning how to care for and enjoy my little flock! My biggest concerns right now are making my coop and run a fortress (fox, coyote, raccoon and hawks are the preditors we are noticing so far) and making sure I am using the best possible safe practices to raise these beautiful baby chickies!
