Recent BYC member, have 7 random chickens in a wire dog cage right now who are about 6 weeks old. The coop is almost done and I'm hoping to finish the run this next week. I have one question. What do all the initials mean i.e DH DS DM and someothers I forgot? Cheers

And then there are the various chicken initials. BO- buff orpington, BR- barred rock, CM- cuckoo marans, etc. Takes awhile to figure out, lol.

Thanks for the reply, that was my guess. Is it a requirement when referring to family members on your home page? Protect the names of the innocent? One more question, do the older chickens poop on you as much as the little ones? I've read thread about people constantly holding them but mine would dump all over me if I did that.
