Penelope is a wonderful, friendly little Dutch Bantam, Angel is a silly white Silkie, Flora is a curious Plymouth Rock, Elvira & Snow White are black Orpingtons but have kept their personalities hidden well.

Some of you have inspired me to give my 5 girls treats and snacks I'd never thought of before. This morning my girls got to try vanilla yogurt. It was fun watching them cautiously approach the shallow dish of yogurt. Once Penelope realized how yummy it was my 4 chicks dug right in. My silkie, Angel, still has not decided to try the new treat but I hope she will come around and get curious.
How often can I give my girls yogurt? Once a week? A little each day?

Welcome, it's so nice to meet you! I'm from NC myself and this year started raising chickens and well... chicken math took over and the addiction began! Good luck with your chickens. There's so much to talk about with regards to advice. Just ask any questions you have, and I'm sure someone will be able to answer them.

We give our chickens lots of treats though, they enjoy weird stuff like yoghurt, biscuits and cooked egg...

Hi I'm Tom.
I live in Northern Ireland and am relatively ne to chicken keeping, just having started last December. I am in my sixties and retired and have a small flock of 6 birds one light Sussex, two Rhode Island Reds and three ISA browns. All but one of my birds are under 1 year old. I'm looking forward to taking part in the BYC forums and hearing what more experienced chicken keepers have got to say.
