Pfft, Lisa!!! No charge for the eggs! I love handing them out; I feel like the dang Easter bunny. Lol Yikes it is like a TV drug deal ... 'first one's on me...' ...get ya hooked. How about Quick Check on Wednesday. I have a black Chrysler 300 .... that, and I'll be the weirdo with the eggs.
I don't know the deal with the cicadas...my parents live about 3 miles from me and they have none...can't even hear them there. None at my aunties in plattekill either. A friend in Cornwall was posting about them last week....I was like "cicadas? What cicadas?" .. Now my back yard looks like Swiss cheese with all of the holes they leave when they come up.

I havnt heard/seen and Cicadas either...when they get here, the chickens and ducks will be going crazy catching them!
I built a 8x8x3 pen attached to the main run for the grow out pen..ill have to take some pics and post them.

Is the grow out pen like a small playpen just to keep them separated from the big chickens during the day like for "introduction" purposes and then they go into the house/brooder at night or do they sleep out in the coop?

I found 2 holes on the side of my house about the size of a quarter yesterday. Those must be the cicada escape holes. I KNOW those holes weren't there Sunday cuz I was the weirdo on my stomach taking pictures of the chickens hanging out in the flower garden right where those 2 holes are!

Lmao...I just spent a productive morning laying on a blanket in the back yard with the chickens for a photo shoot.
How about when you get of of work? I pick up my daughter at 2 ...so anytime after that is fine....she'll make me buy her a sandwich and snacks from QC. Lol

Sort of...I keep chicks in the house till they are 6 weeks or fully feathered..then they go in the pen. So the older chickens can see them and get use to them..They stay outside all the time once i put them in there...once they are big enough they go into the main coop/run.

I laid in the pool today for about 30 mins...and my feet got bit multiple times by a yellow fly...now my feet and extremely swollen and i have a horrible headache!!!!
