Hudson Valley NY *chat thread*

That works, I basically spill oyster shell into my coop in one section like it is gravel. It happened by accident once and then I just kinda kept doing it. My husband didn't like that I had a little bucket of it in the run because someone kept climbing into the bucket and pooping. So now the spill method just works.
The other girls in my second coop, I keep it ontop of the nesting box. (the nesting box in the townhouse coop is an old nightstand flipped over with the drawer turned upside. So the cavity at the top is filled with oyster/grit mix and they seem pretty happy with it.

Well I am off to the store. We have a wedding in Queens tonight that is Cowboy/country themed and I need to find my five year old a cowboy hat.
Have a great day, even with this rainy weather!

Oh, and I ordered a second incubator. Later in the year when I am not using it ...if anyone needs one ...keep me in mind...I may be willing to loan it out so I don't hatch more chicks

I wish you guys/girls could see my chickens right now! We had a rainstorm and for some reason my chickens stand in the rain..the silkies are really funny looking all wet!
Sally I hope you have a great time at the wedding! Sounds like its going to be fun!

It is! Wish I had the camera out.
Also if anyone is interested, I have a young pair of Silver Spangled Hamburgs forsale. The yen should start laying in spring. Asking $40 for the pair.

The wedding was awesome! If you ever are down that way it was a wonderful place. Queens County Farm Museum ...I think that is what it was called.

Everything was simple and beautiful .

My son just loves photos lol

LOL My son is the reason I posted that picture even on facebook...I guess as a parent I find his miserable expression hilarious.

I know that sounds mean but I think some of my favorite pictures the kids look so ticked off or mad. My niece has a picture of her crying when she came to my delivery room when I was giving birth to my son. She was so mad her mom was holding another baby. I just love that photo though because it takes me back to that moment so easily.

Earrings. Thank you :)

I took pictures of the July chicks today and my BR being a brat and pooping on the swingset.
