Her name is Hailey. Or at least I hope it's a she...
5 months old.
Just blended the 8 new Ameraucana chickens with the rest of the flock
a couple days ago.
Still a bit of tension.

it kinda hard to tell not alot of differences between her and the other chickens. She looks like a cockerel because of her size and how her tail stand straight up like that, dosent really have a saddle of feathers in the back(which you would have for a roo to mate). there is still a chance she could be a pullet but i guess the only way to find out is if she crows. My GUESS would be shes a roo

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

That is rooster with pointy saddle feathers hanging down over the back of the wing.

If you were told hen, someone lied! :( Also he's an Easter Egger.

Yeah, I was wondering about the breed.
Just got them as chicks labeled as Ameraucana's.
Hailey is probably a rooster. The last two roosters I got
were also really large.
Which other chicken in the video is a rooster?

okay did some research hens can have spurs. but i still think its a him
Yes, hens can grow spurs and even crow though it isn't common. All hens will have at least small spur bumps.

Roosters can and do even egg sing either with my hens or when they get startled sometimes.

But only roosters grow those pointy saddle feathers. No possibility Hailey is a pullet. :old
