HUGE Black snake in chicken coop. Can’t Get him out

I second hoeing the snake once you get him down. He could absolutely strangle one of your birds

OK, I had to close them in there with him for 10 minutes. I’m going to get the A-frame ladder so that when I knock this guy down because he’s pissed at least it’ll take him a minute longer to get to me. I’ve never seen a pissed off black snake I had a friend of mine that kept telling me oh it’s not a big deal. They won’t hurt your birds, but I just felt different so thank you guys for seconding, my feelings. This is gonna be utter chaos. Haha. But chaos happens at my house.

Small rat snakes are no big deal to a grown hen, but he's big enough to do some serious damage. In any case, a snake of any size will eat eggs and chicks so he needs to go either way

Snake tongs wouldn’t work for me. My arms are about 17 inches long. Haha

Right now, my main objective is to get them out of the coop because the only way he got in there was to sneak in there during the day. I’m sure for eggs, but my eggs were still there. I have a lot of black snakes and actually I like the den of them. I have near my garage because well mouse control. I’ve never seen one this big and had to get near chicken coop or now in the chicken coop.! And I’ve seen some snake skins so I think they’re usually kind of agitated after they shed and so that adds to the fun
