Huge Eye

it actually looks worse today, beginning to think it is a tumor?? Called the breeder, she said to give Tylan for 3 days, which I started yesterday and to wipe eye with Vitricin Eye Gel, so I happened to have that on hand and used that a little while ago. She said to try to push on the inside of the eye to see if I got any pus out, in case it is a sinus infection. Here are some more photos I just took

The breeder said if the treatment I am doing doesn't help by the end of three days I should probably have her put down and she would replace her. Sigh...

Thoughts?? Could this still be a sinus infection?

Do I just cut the lower eyelid, no pain killer?? What if I hit something vital? Egads...I will do what I have too, but I am terrified of hurting her

okay, have myself talked into lancing it in the morning. Is there anything I can do to help numb the area first? I hate the thought of cutting when they can feel it.

Wow, Pam that sounds scary. Would your breeder come and have a look at it? Do you think you could try to get it drained by maneuvering it with gauze pads or Q-Tips and squeeze out any pus mass that is in there? I think I would rather have a vet do something like that. I have tried to find more info, and only came up with this link to a thread similar: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/542003/yellow-mass-in-eye-socket

I looked at it again tonight and I really don't think it a nasal issue. Her whole eyeball is HUGE! I have seen posts where the eye is normal bit swelling around the eye, that makes sense to lance it, just not sure what to do. I have my equine vet coming out in the morning for annual shots. Going to ask him if we look at it. Maybe he can give me an idea what it is. Would a sinus infection make the whole eyeball swell?

It can. Here is a hen that has wet pox and and possibly a secondary sinus infection.

From the picture, it looks as if the puss is in the eye itself. Can you press the corner gently to expel it?

I forgot to suggest looking inside the mouth... Inside there is a cleft on the roof of their mouth, check it for pus. If you see pus there it is definitely a sinus infection, if no pus, it is still probably a sinus infection.
