Huge protrusion from vent!! Is my hen in danger???

Just curious, what would be best to use instead of vaseline?
I use something like this:

OK - this is what I did: I put her in a basin of warm water. She was calm and then would freak out and then was calm again, and so on. I couldn't really clean her dirty bum feathers because she was struggling and I needed both hands. But while she was struggling, she pooped (looked healthy). I blew her dry (she liked that) and I sprayed the Vetericyn on the area. Then, with a glove, I tried to push it in. I couldn't tell if it was in. But then some of it popped out again. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. Any thoughts about what I should do next? Here are pics from when I thought I pushed it in, to after.

did you try putting honey on it and pushing it back in? I did this with my duck and it helps lower inflammation and it stayed it after that and wouldn’t before that.

I'm going to do this right now. I've just been reading other posts and I only tried pushing it in once, but it sounds like popping back out after it was pushed in is very common and that it really takes patience and many attempts. I'm going to try the honey. Fingers crossed!

OK - I tried to push it in with honey, but I think because it wasn't after a warm bath, she couldn't tolerate it and was flapping and flipping out. So I stopped for the night. She was in a cage inside all day and I just got home from work. She is dripping this white fluid from her vent. What is that??? Her prolapse also looks very different than yesterday. I'm not sure if it is better or worse. I'm posting some pictures to get some more experienced opinions. They are kinda gross so beware. Also, I know her butt is filthy and I will bath her again today, but this time cover her head. Hopefully that will calm her.

The white liquid is urates, the kidney waste. Is she also pooping normal droppings? I would soak her in warm soapy water at least once a day to keep her clean. Use the honey or a sugar paste with water, and that can help reduce swelling. Keep the vent lubricated as long as the prolapse is out. It can take days for a prolapse to stay in, but just keep trying to push it back in a few times a day. It may come out whenever she strains, poops, or lays an egg. You can temporarily stop her from laying by keeping her in the dark for 16 hours a day. Here is a good article to read:

Today it looked like she pooped some tiny little brown pellets, so that doesn't seem very normal. Should I be concerned about the urates? It just seems to be dripping out of her non-stop. I'm going to give her a bath soon just to clean her off.

I should also add that she's eating normally (her organic, soy-free grain feed) and drinking a bit. I just put some Greek yogurt too, which she really seems to like.
