When she finished the packet, she got off her computer, grabbed a harness and pulled it over Minky, her cat, then clipped on the lead and stepped out into the cool air.

Nim rounded the block. She sniffed. The hair on the back of Minky's neck stood up, she hissed, a low hiss. Nim's spine jumbled about in it's place, she shuddered, she turned, then started to march towards the smoke.

Nim started to run, she ran until she heard the screaming and saw flames. She gasped, reached down and grabbed Minky, clutching her to her chest. She walked up to a boy in a singed shirt with very singed hair and something wrong with one of his eyebrows. "What happened?" She asked.
