Just to let you know, as the suggestion includes reptiles, we in that community are also ready to fight this, as we've fought many many issues like this before.

We don't really think this will turn into a real problem, but are ready if it does, considering how much we have to deal with anyways. We cannot even ship reptiles USPS, and can only ship snakes with certain companies and only with a verified account.

So you can understand, we're here on your side too.

Reread the quoted proposal, all Public lands. A huge chunk of the cash used to purchase and maintain those lands comes from the sale of hunting/fishing licences and the various stamps and permits associated with them. Even more money is donated by outdoorsman(outdoorspeople

) groups. Get rid of the ability for those people to use the land, and those funds will dry up instantly. The government might well have to sell much if not most of it off. I'm sure the "pave it all over" developers are already licking their chops.

As far as I'm concerned the organization is just about as fanatical as that "P***" group. Don't get me wrong, animals can't represent themselves so groups are needed to make sure they are treated "ethically" and "humanly". But it went beyond the concern of a group(s) of people a long long time ago. It went beyond cause shortly thereafter. It has become a religious cult. Group leaders aren't hired, they are ordained. This is worse than the government trying to control it's citizens, this is a private organization trying to get the government to control the population for them.

3. No Flaming (verbally attacking people or groups of people - e.g. a profession, an organization, a company.)

Oh, sorry. That was a reflex reaction to the acronym. Really, it was a reflex.

What's next, cutting out shipment of live fish and invertebrates because it's "cruel"? I've never received live birds, but I've had TONS of fish shipped in and have shipped several out, plus my ball pythons were shipped in, and I had only one shipment that was lost. Considering that fish purchased from the petstore usually die before you get them home (a 20 minute drive or less), that's pretty darn good for being in a bag or sack for 2 days. Our society is becoming entirely too conservative.

How about it. People already have to have permits to ship reptiles, and can only ship through certain sources. *Sigh*

Actually it's Liberalism that's at the root of *edit*. Most the Conservatives I know believe in "Smaller Government" and keeping Big Brother out of our lives unless absolutely necessary. And, IMHO, what's at the root of all this is much deeper than just how much Government should be involved in things.

God Bless,
2. No PETA or Cock fighting posts, period!

I'm a vegetarian and don't hunt, but I do have to respectfully disagree with you on this point. We have some beautiful wetlands in this area, including a wildlife refuge, that support a wide variety of animals, plants, and insects. This includes elk and nutria (non-native ROUS, brought in for the fur industry), both of which are very rough on the wetlands. While a certain number of elk are beneficial and easily supported, when there become too many it can devastate the entire delicate ecosystem. Hunting provides a way to control the numbers. It isn't a free for all, it's very strictly regulated who can hunt there and how many animals they are allowed to take, depending on the herd size.

Now that has to be one of the absolute best examples of non-biased objective thinking that I've ever come across. Kudo's to you Angie!

Btw, we have Nutria here in WA too. The first time I saw one I had no idea what one was and was telling a Nat'l Forest Service professional that I had just seen a beaver with a big rat tail instead of a flat paddle!

God Bless,

well considering that USPS will be increasing stamp rates in May and just put forth to drop to 5 day delivery.

And it's been nearly 3 weeks and I havent gotten a package from freaking Oregon yet. Been sitting in one of their depots according to the post master I spoke with today.

I have lost faith in them to deliver anything on time.
Took them 5 days to deliver a package to me that was second day air.

OK this could get confusing LOL, with 2 gypsys on the board you are going to have to put the OP second part of the name , GypsyGirl Is NOT me and I not Her.

and Personally INACTION is the cause of so many bad laws being passed, If we do not stand up and pay attention , take care of ourselves these people will in fact take care of us by stripping away our hobbies and loves.
