humidity dropped and not coming back up help !

I agree with the others...water MUST be hot. It'll up the humidity fast....may not hold but if u put hot water in and your hygrometer doesnt go up...then its your hygrometer.
 
No your chicks will not die at 40% humidity.

15 minutes is hardly enough time to wait for humidity to come up..

try something simple,,, like this,,,, take duct tape and tape the joint where the top sets on the bottom.. run the tape all the way around..

do not go crazy spraying the eggs with water.. You will not drown the chicks ,, but water cools as it evaporates and you will cool all your eggs down..
 
Don't spray the eggs directly. The water can fall on them. Believe me the spray bottle method works great. The water on the eggs will evaporate in minutes so it won't damage the eggs.
 
Well I agree with the others that it might be the hygrometer's fault.

How can you put hot water in it and then not getting higher humidity levels?
 
hey all well since trying everything last night lol I have managed to get up to 60 lol only have 2 maxi pads , a cup of water , and 6 sponges lol now I think we're good lol at least I hope so I know I shouldn't have but I had to candle one of the eggs last night to check on it and funny thing I still see veins on it the others were to dark for me to see I hope they hatch today ! I don't think I can handle anymore waiting with this incubator lol you can bet I will be buying a new one as soon as these eggs are done ! thanks all for the help ! I informed my boss (my dad) I will be staying home until these eggs hatch lol so I'll post pics if anything happens again Thanks ya'll !
