Well, I am wondering how high you take your humidity for lock down. I took mine to around 63 this past hatch and it obviously wasnt enough. Not sure what happened but I dint have a decent hatch rate at all with alot of chicks that were mature.

I'm wondering the exact same thing, so I would love for some one with experience to answer this. I have differing oppinions as well.

I talked to a guy that puts his all the way up to 70-75 but all I have read is that is way wrong. I have even seen the dry hatch deal and man I just have question after question with hatching. Dang it. Ill be trying again here soon like in two or 3 days. Any ways I hope someone chimes in with experience

I personally try for 50-55% for chicken eggs days 1-18, then up it to 65-70% for lockdown.

One thing I have learned is you need to keep the vents wide open as well. Ventilation is also crutial as the embryos use a lot of oxygen near hatch time.
For ducks I opt for 50-55% days 1-18 then up it to 75-80% at lockdown.

well I guess the next time i try to hatch I will get the humidity up a bit more 1-18 then I will boost it iven higher the next 3 days. I can see that i might have been a bit low. Plus I closed my vents. That could be the ticket. First I have read anything on the vents. thanks.

You're welcome...it takes practice and lots of researching to get it...I'm still learning myself!

I have mine at 35-40% for the first 18 days and then 60-70% the last 3 days. Not sure if that's right, but I have some chicks hatch. If I could just get my temps stable...
