I had no idea where to even post this. My daughter found a hummingbird yesterday. We called the wildlife rehab place, we would need to bring is a huge distance. They gave us a number of the closest rehabber, no answer. then the vet down the street takes birds to help they told us today. we bring the hummingbird there. They take our info and said they would call. We asked if they were just going to put it down then please call us. Well, they called
. appently he won't do anything as the bird is too small for him to help. They said we could keep it and feed it and hope the wing heals well enough for us to release. Dh asked me if this was legal but I have no idea
guess they didn't want to take to the wildlife place far away either
. So I am going to pick it up and feed it and maybe use a little vet wrap to immobolize the wing to it's body for a few days and cross my fingers
the whole situation just seems bizarre to me. I just feel bad having them kill it when it is eating well and looks very healthy, except for the wing. any opinions??
