Hummus help please

I keep cans of garbanzo beans in the pantry just for those occasions where I am craving hummus!!! I love it with pitas, veggies, rice...YUM!!!
 
I use it instead of mayo in sandwiches because of it's nutrition value and it's lower in calories than mayo. However if your watching salt the commercial stuff can be very high, have a look at the label. You can control the sodium in the hummus you make by not using the water in the can with the chick peas (most recipes call for some of it) and even more by rinsing them. The peas themselves are not high in sodium.

You got me going on this, today I made pita bread, hummus and tadziki and DH and I stuffed ourselves for lunch. Lets just say we are safe from Dracula for a while, but might not be great company for anyone else! LOL
