Ch.24 pt.1

We ran for what felt like an hour before we met up with the rest of the pack.
They were waiting for us at the edge of the woods, carefully hidden in bushes and trees. In the distance we could hear the barking of dogs.
The grownups were with Amy, staring at her in silent conversation with the occasional nod and thoughtful look.
Garry was watching the woods behind us, being extra careful.
We joined in on the silent conversation. Everyone was trying to figure out what we could do from here. Would we keep running like this? Was there a place to hide?
Finally Garry spoke up, "I-I'm sorry."he said, "I should have never came to your town. I wouldn't have if I knew there were others there... but I had already moved in when I found out about you living there."
"A chorus of muted 'What?'s and 'Why?'s came from the pack.
"I had already been running from them for a year when I came to your town. I should have left when I first met you."
"What?!" an outraged growl came from Mr.Samson, "You mean to tell us that you caused this?! What did you do to make them so angry? We know they wouldn't pursue without reason."
Garry's ears swiveled back to lay flat on his head, his face became blank and his eyes searched the woods, "They think I murdered one of their commanders.. Sedrick Corrad." the grownups gasped and Garry's face was now grim, "I assure you I didn't, but I know who did. I saw the whole thing. The murderer was Issac Vladimir, of the Night covenant." he growled as he said the name,so did the others, "I had been trying to stop him, but.. well.. I was unconcious by the time he got to Sedrick. When I woke up, he was dead, sucked dry of his life force, and his team had just arrived. Issac had made it look like I had snapped Sedrick's neck. They have been relentless ever since.. I have obviously never gotten the chance to defend myself.. and by living in the same town as you they must have assumed you were involved." he paused, "And the new commander of Sedrick's team.... Issac Vladimir! The humans have no idea who their commander really is."
"So what can we do now? Issac Vladimir is one of the strongest, fastest vampires there is.. and he is known for killing humans and blaming us," dad spoke grimly,"We won't get out of this easily.. if at all."

Pt. 2

"We can't just stop running, though!" Amy exclaimed.
"If it were up to me we'd break all ties with you, Garry!" Amy's mother was raging.
"And what then? We have never run from the hunters before! At least he has the expierience! We would surely die without him to help us escape them." dad shot a glance at Mrs.Samson full of anger and pity, "If it was up to you we would not be well off. Its lucky that we all get a choice in the matter."he smirked, "lets put it to a vote, girls can you move your tails well?"
"Yes."Amy and I nodded.
"Well then, whoever votes we stick with Garry, raise your tails."
Amy, Mom, Dad, and I raised our tails. Mr.Samson's tail twitched, then glancing at his wife, raised it.
"It seems the vote was not in your favor," Dad said.
"We need to move. Their hounds are coming. I can just see them now."
Without another word everyone was running, Mrs.Samson almost as far as she could be away from Garry.
We flew out of the trees, and raced across a road that lay separating us from the other half of the forest.
A van almost hit us. It squealed to a halt, and the doors opened, suddenly spilling out the S.W.A.T-like figures.
We ran faster, zigzagging through the trees. It reminded me of training with Cole, and the dream I had had.
A bullet whizzed past my ear, reminding me of the day Amy and I had run from that terrible hunter... and his brother before that.
All in much less than a month.
Each thought scared me to no end, and I ran faster and faster, fear was my fuel. Suddenly I was running as fast as, I believed, my parents had the day Issac Vladimir had the hunters on our tail in the woods, blurs in the forest.
My feet were barely touching the ground, and it was getting harder to breathe.
I heard shots from behind me, and slowed to take a better look, then resumed my speed.
I was going fast enough that it seemed the bullets were going by me like they were at running speed, but slow enough that I could see them a few seconds before they flew into the trunk of a tree or clump of dirt.
One hit Garry in the leg, and another hit my mom in the paw.
They fell to the ground and I skidded for about twenty feet before I came to a halt. By that time they were on their feet and running again, their wounds still healing, but they didnt show too much pain.
I sat in amazement, watching them run off, then, after a bullet whizzed past my ear, I began to run again.

Pt. 3 (Sorry its waaaaay late)
My paws hit the ground roughly, throwing up dirt in clumps. Bullets sang, making an out of tune chord with a drumbeat of metal on wood and ground. The baying of hounds mixed with the chord, making it even more terrible, but with our advantage in speed there would be no worrying about that soon.
Garry moved next to my dad, indicating that they might be in conversation. It didn't surprise me, he was thee talkative type.. or at least grateful. He just might be thanking my dad for speaking against Mrs.Samson. I had no clue.. but he just might.
Taking my mind off my wonderings, I looked at my surroundings. Coming out of the woods and crossing a road I counted how long it took to cross a large field. It was obvious that we weren't normal when I stopped counting.Fifteen seconds. That was how long it took to cross a field of about 1/5 of a mile. Dancer kept up well but had to rest often, which slowed us down a bit.
I had never dreamed that i could run that fast. The ground zoomed past quickly, looking like a smudge of rock grey and dirt brown.
We were in the countryside for sure. I nearly fell over into a ditch thinking about the chance that we wouldn't be seen running through open fields. When I regained my balance, I noticed that the others had made a break through the ditch, which was just deep enough to hide in. There was a bit of water in it... halfway up my forearm. Maybe enough to mask our scents from the hounds.
We moved downstream, the light current sweeping our scents away, then jumped out on the side we had entered from, it was dark now, and we could see the faint glow of a nearby town's lights. We took the fastest route, going as the crow lies over fields and through small patches of trees and shrubs.
Garry scented a fox's old den, and, with much effort we made it a desirable size.
It was cold, but we were tired and couldn't care much about it. Garry, dad, and Mr.Samson all pushed and nudged, bumped and pulled carried and place all sorts of rocks onto the entrance, making sure no hounds would get in, then made a small hole in the wall farther through the tunnel, which was pretty lengthy, and dug it large enough to just barely get through.
In a little while we were all laying on dried leaves and moss, gathered from outside. It took a little while but we all finally went to sleep.
Luckily, I didn't have a bad dream this time.
