hunting

Not a great pic b/c by the time we located this buck it was way to late to get pic's outside so the DH took one best he could in the garage.

He's a 5 point, 18 month old CT Buck. I got robbed on the antlers b/c it looks like he snapped both sides off in velvet.

Last year my Husband, a hunting buddy, and I all shot nice bucks for thanksgiving!! Below is a group deer shot only. Mine is the peanut in the middle 8 Ptr that was a Pie-Bald. He had white legs and lots of white on him. I wind-up doing a european mount on the skull and A lamp with the white legs.

I can't wait to get back out there again

Happy Hunting all!!

I dont hunt cause hubby thinks I will get hurt, but we have 2 deer in the freezer and 3 months of hunting to go. My son is 31 and this will be his first year hunting, so I hope he gets one and learns how to do everything.
Great pics from the game cams.
Good Luck everyone hunting this year.

Happy Hunting all!!

that one on the left is huge body all are huge deer for ct.next month i hope to start taking some down.

i hope to get atleast 3 this year.debbie doesn't like hunting but loves to help me drag an gut them.she is kind of wierd lol.you guys get some nice bucks down there i have found if i can get out around the first full moon of nov the bucks are rutting every where. this year it is on my bday nov 10th.last few years i have gotten some good body bucks 150-200lb range just no good racks small 6's.

LOL, I was like here as a kid and then got into hunting on my own. Yes that is a good time to go but, also there is a pre-rutt here in CT in October. It is usually right around the second or third week as long as the weather cooperates which it really hasn't up until this past wednesday and now they are saying 80+ degrees tomorrow

Nothing worse than Bow Hunting in New England in warm weather. You've got Skeeters to tend to and trying to sit still and then after you take one down you have to move quickly before the Blow flys move in!!! I'm so grateful I took that 5 pointer down on a cold night and the next day was windy and cool. I swear here in New Haven county and Fairfield County the deer population is is greater per square mile and we have some seriously Big Ole Swamp Bucks that out wit the novice hunters

Last year my Husband, Friend, and I figured out the patterns and took action!! I already have my eye on a 12 pointer ripping up the trees like madd!!! I even notice when scouting one of the rubbs was still wet so, I started to move slowly and quietly. I walked right up on him. The wind was in my favor but, he knew something was up. He stopped Turned Snorted at me and just stood there looking and watching me for like 10 mins. I just crouched down and stayed still. It was soooo awesome to see him 70 yards off just hanging there trying to figure me out. But, I'm thinking this past winter in CT was bad and I think it weeded out the herd quite a bit. All I'm seeing so far are alot of Small does with young fawns. I f I'm going to take one it's got to be at least 125lbs or it's just not worth dirtying the ban saw and grinder. Ideally I like it when my husband and I both go hunting and take down two and if a friend gets one it just makes it that much better to butcher. You should be able to get Private Landowners where you are right? I would love to own 10+ acres in CT just so I could get land owners tags!!!!!!!
