This is a great thread.

My DH & DS are avid outdoor men as well as many other family members. They all give praise to all the months that end in ER!! They like to fish too. Our freezer is basically full of venison besides some chicken and veggies. I rarely buy any beef, only throughout the summer periodically when we grill. Since there are so many nice pics on here I thought I'd share a pic of my DH's 9 point he got 2 weeks ago. Of course he's back out this weekend hoping to get even a BIGGER one!!

Pretty, I have never seen a "green wing"

That's a green winged teal to be more specific. Great buck by the way. I just got off my stand at noon, bow season here. Seeing plenty of deer in my neighborhood, just wish they'd walk by my stand.

I LOVE to hunt, but I don't duck hunt because I can't identify the varieties.

If you don't mind me asking.....Did you marinate it? I see you have it wrapped in bacon, we've grilled it that way also....very delicious!!

I try not to overdue on marinades. After all, I do want to taste the duck not hide it's flavor. That being said this recipe was marinated in italian dressing for a short time. I also had shallots inside a pocket I sliced in the breast pieces. Of course the key in any game is not to overcook, and that includes waterfowl, medium rare is the best.

Got up at 3 am this morning ad was up in the stand by 5:30 No deer but did have a pair of coyotes come by my stand no shot though. I think they screwed up a nice morning for deer. Fresh scraps and rubs are all around. Going out again and hopefully see a deer. I don't care if it's a buck or doe I just want to see one LOL

Coyotes might not be so lucky next time... have only shot one thing with my 20ga slug and a coyote might be it's second!

Gee, you mean you can get more than one buck during deer season? That would be cool, we can only take one atlered deer, course we only have whitetail here in southeast Kansas. Western Kansas they have whitetails, and mule deer, but you can still have only one atlered deer.
