I Hunt here in the UK but not for any forms of big game, I hunt rabbit squirrel and all forms of Corvids Crows / magpies and I also shoot pigeons / rats I shoot with high powered Air Rifles I own 2 Daystate Air rifles one I need a licence for thats the Daystate AirWolf the other is what we describe as a Sub 12ftlbs Daystate MK4 is

wanted to share.. finally got out and had my chance yesterday on a nice gobbler.. last year i did not get out do to knee problems as well, but this year Ive pushed it and managed to just do it..

PremisesMC-Wow! Those are some nice looking air rifles! I've never hunted with air rifles, so I don't know much about them, but those look sweet!

I haven't been able to hunt turkeys this spring since I am recovering from a total knee replacement. I did get my excitement this morning, however. I heard the guineas, turkeys and chickens making a racket. I looked out the window and saw my DH's goats all huddled in a circle around their babies. Not 30 feet from them was a coyote waiting for its chance at a chevon breakfast. I managed to get the gun and get out on the back deck just as he took off.

Nailed him with my.223 savage with an accutrigger. Big male. I like my 22-250 better for coyotes, but the .223 was handy and that accutrigger is sweet!

The whole time I was out this morning I could hear a turkey gobbling in the woods to the south! I suppose the noise all of our birds were making got that tom all stirred up. Wish I was ready for a "walk in the woods."

Excellent! theres nothing more exciting than seeing a reason to take something and then nailing it! well done I hope the knee recovers quickly for you.
You should try Air rifles the ones I use are the Pre Charged Pneumatics (PCP) as they are known have virtually no, and i mean NO! recoil! and shoot our to 100 yards very effectively.

22-250 does a good job on coyotes and is murderous on prairie dogs. I love my DH's 220 Swift. I liked his so much I bought one of my own. It's a beautiful custom gun but we found out whoever did the work on it did not "finish ream" the chamber. After a couple years we bought a reamer. That was a couple years ago now. I'm still waiting for my DH to ream it so I can use it. (I am dependent on him to do this... it's not something I would feel competent in at all, and he has been an engineer all his life and is very competent at this kind of thing.)

So how do I "sweetly" persuate him to finish ream that chamber so I can use it next time I see a coyote or next time we go prairie doggin'?
