After having visited the Bahamas and other islands including PR I hope they are spared the worst of it... some islands are only 10-20 feet above sea level and the construction of many homes was not that high of caliber. One good storm surge will wipe some smaller islands out.

I've been MIA working on house projects and watching the forest fires about an hour away growing. It's so smoky and hazy and we get bouts of ash raining down. Everything sunlight is amber and red hued and there have been absolutely NO birds making a single noise or even any bugs. Just dead silence and what looks like Mars or a nuclear wasteland..

Winds have actually dropped in the last few minutes by 5 mph.

all good ideas. i plan to leave soon for the store. i know it is late but the walmart is open 24/7 here so i am hoping there is something left that i could buy otherwise i gotta wait till morning and try out other stores plus i need to buy dog food and things for the chickens. i honestly had no time today up until now.

also i know i will get flooded. i live towards the bottom of a hill which is a mountain and the water goes into this stream which is literally 10 feet away from house and it turns into a mini river during rainstorms. it goes all along my land that i have and today while i was preparing some parts of it where my land is kind of low near it, the water already looked like it was high. a couple more feet and it probably will over flow at least in that one area. i am just hoping that the area that is right next to my house does not flood my downstairs.:fl
Please be safe! :fl:fl:fl

Take care with those fires. I'd have to evacuate from those to be able to breathe. We have smoke in the air here from the north western fires here in KC.

Be careful, store some supplies as high as your can, just in case. Best of luck today and in the coming days.

i have not gone to bed yet. been getting the chickens room and putting them into there mini house coop in a room, putting two dogs from outside into the house along with my two sheep, and parking the car under the balcony which took a good 20 mins sense its not a big balcony to begin with lol. i bought at least 100 dollars worth of food that and yes every store i went to had zero water. i will just have to fill everything i can find with water. i bought burrito wraps instead of bread because most bread was gone and what was left was expensive for me, tuna, mayo, two eggs because mine arent laying yet, canned meat, corn beef, tuna, vienna sausages, refried beans, knorr pasta dishes that only require hot water, ramen soup, saltine crackers, and two cans of fruit pear and peach...and one bag of candy.

funny thing is that they made it illegal to drink today but i still saw people buying cases of beer. i swear people dont think.
i just saw a video on abc news from barbados. it looks crazy. they have a mandatory evacuation for anyone in low lying areas here.

well i think it is time for bed now.

Get some well deserved rest. Happy for you that you found supplies to get you through a few days. Here when they predict ice storms milk, bread, eggs and beer are the empty shelves. Stay safe. Can't believe you have sheep in your house, hopefully they will not cause an awful mess.
