Update: Snake girl got her brother out when she called for backup. A friend came with his hummer and picked up the brother. Waist high (and better) water!

I knew she was resourceful!:lau

The girl had sent a video of the rescue to my daughter. She couldn't get it to load, so took screen shots of the water to show me. It's somewhere between Callahan and Fernandina, near Yulee. Of course, almost every place down there is flat.

Looks more like a lake. Definitely resourceful. Will serve her well in her life!

Northwest Florida is windy and rainy today, but not too bad. It's chilly, though. Around 60-63 degrees. I did stay home from work today as we were forecast to have winds upwards of 35 to 45 MPH. I don't think we did, though, although there were some pretty high gusts and I could hear it whistling through the eves The chickens and horses/rabbits were glad to see me with their feed. :). Chickens still laying, although most seem to be choosing the nesting boxes today.

Prayers for all in the peninsula and other affected areas, especially those dealing with flooding. Hopefully everyone can get cleaned up and back to business in both Texas and Florida soon.

So very glad it all worked out so all were safe. Prayers answered.

Keep in mind many of the cell towers and internet accesses may be down. so some of our BYC members may have no access.. There were reports on the news about that happening in South Florida and the Keys
We had pretty much the same problems with cell towers in 2005, what worked best then was texting. Don't know if this will help 12 years later

Weather Channel did an update on Hurricane Jose, Cat 2, 100 mph winds, speed 12

The guy showed a forecast map and emphasized that the European model was the best indicator of what Hurricane Irma would do.

That said.....

He stated the storm will "meander" for a couple of days before it goes wherever.

The European model shows Hurricane possibly hitting Florida mid-East Coast.

Our model shows it going more N-Nw where it could impact the East Coast - or go out to sea.

He said this storm still bears watching.

I've heard they are good to eat! Taste like chicken?
The tail is the best part, only a 1 month season for hunting them and you have to have special tags, so most gator meat is store bought. Which often means it's farm raised. There is a farm about an hour from us and their original gators were born the same year I was. They are still alive at 60 years old. (and they are big and scary)
