Well y'all I'm off "obviously", going on finish up some last minute details and move some bantams in for my seniors. Six bantam faverolles pullets and one bantam faverolles cockrel. A poll was taken they wanted a rooster but due to safety we went bantam. Poll also had a choice between therapy chickens, dog or cat.Chickens won by a landslide. ..the dog woman that comes on Wednesdays will not be pleased .Oh well! :)

Really now, if it makes ya feel any better I used to make them pants...now you can stop wondering. :)

Why do dogs get to run around naked, but we have to wear clothes? Mom never could answer that one. Welcome to the Nut House! Everyone is welcome, clothes optional, but HIGHLY encouraged for some people (and trolls apparently).

I've gotta to ask, and will regret it later, who took the poll and did anyone contest your results? Are they appealing the poll results? Anyone accused you of undue bias? Do those old people know that roosters crow? Do you know what it's like to be drinking all night (Happy Mardi Gras!), FINALLY fall/crawl into a warm bed at dark thirty, shut your eyes and have the rooster in the back yard start crowing???? Not just to announce the dawn of a new day, but every 2 minutes for the next 6 hours of prime pass out time???? I now ask the owners of the offered bedroom how close it is to the chicken coop. Talk about strange looks....

Speaking of which, anyone craving rooster gumbo? Rabideaux's sausage? Rice, potato salad and fresh bread on the side slathered in butter? Boudin heating up? Roux should be the color of the bayou after a hard rain and made with pig fat. Darker is better, but DON'T burn the roux!

No, the rooster lived. The offered bed belonged to a good friend and the rooster was his father's and off limits. I was told I had a great time. But I don't believe most of the stories. **I** wouldn't do those things. <halo>

Hmm - make you crazy, no. But you are definitely crazy! Welcome to the club!

Don't remember what or why, but the funny part is BIL on his knees for 3-4 hours. The good (?) news is, whoever was bleeding lived a while longer.

The second thing to go, as you get older, is your memory. I don't remember the first...:old

I like chasing southern girls, the barefoot ones that can run fast are the most fun too! Yes, I caught her :loveand it may not last much longer. Ask me in another 25 years. <wink> ;)

Am I using these floating heads the right way? :ya
At least you know how to use the floating heads. lol

@RUNuts 43 seniors aged 67 to 102 took the poll. Results were not contested as there was only one vote for dog nobody wanted a cat.:( Was a bigger ordeal than expected as all residents families had to be contacted and give their feedback as well. Had a few nervous nellies but they were put at ease. And yes they know about rooster noises believe it or not that was the major push for one. BTW Miss Ollie, the very lovely centurian says hello. :)

We need a pic of Miss Ollie hugging a chicken!

(Why do you have so many seniors?)
