My heart and prayers with you Guys.
Just it came to my mind if you have a battery operated radio or alarm clock radio, you may use it to get news from local radio stations when everything else is off.

Kiki's...I'm so glad your sense of humour is staying intact. I grew up in South Florida, so I know hurricanes. I wasn't there when Andrew hit but had friends and family there. It destroyed the city I grew up in.
We don't have a big place, but if needed, y'all are welcome. I know moving everything is last on the list and hope you won't need to..Just wanted to put it out there.
How are the kids holding up? And are you getting enough rest? Sorry, I'm worse than an old momma hen!

No it's still raining.
I could live the rest of my life with never seeing water again.

Those radios you crank by hand also work, nice when batteries run out. We have had an inexpensive one for years. checked it last night and crank option still works!

We are stuck..no getting in and out of anything right now.

We will be ok one way or another.

I reminded the kids of their swimming lessons!

Kids are ok now that we got internet service back.
They aren't seeing the news..like I am so they are kinda clueless...trying to keep it that way for as long as possible.

Don't blame ya. I've seen alot of pics of your area that have brought tears to my eyes and fear for you all. The last you need is terrified unconsolable children.
You'll sleep for days when it's over!

Sure..but I haven't heard of any alligators floating around yet.

Did that with my 2 and 1/2 year old for Katrina, kept saying we were on vacation (evacuated) and wasn't it fun. First real vacation post Katrina, she ran to see if she still had toys when we got home. To her, vacation ment all your toys and stuff disappeared while you were gone.
