I don't care about the warmth...
I just like how the material (the blue jeans) made it feel real heavy.
At least I thought it was the blue jeans that made it feel heavy.

I will make it with jeans no problem but will also add 2 layers of cotton batting so it is warm but not super heavy so you cannot move under it

@penny1960 Will you come visit me for a week.
I need someone to show me how to use my sewing machine!
Yes? Great....I will let you play with my chickens!
I have a dog that will sleep with you too!

what do you have for a machine? model and maker?

A white thing...it plugs into the wall and has a foot peddle thing too!

BRB let me go check.

I got it from my Granny when she passed...that is all I really know about it.
She lived closer to Ursh...so I never got to spend enough time with her so she could teach me and my mom is not a sower.

It's a Singer 5050 C.

I had once found ONE video with this exact model on Youtube..but the lady was just showing it to sell it...she didn't show my how to use it in that video.
That was last year sometime when I looked for a video, I haven't looked recently.

What I'd really like to make even more than a blue jean thing is a light weight thing (I call it a blanket but it might be called a quilt) for me bed.
One that goes all the way down to the floor or near it.
I have a king sized bed and all the stuff they sell in the stores is not wide and long enough for me.

ETA:
I just measured..I want something that is 132 inches by 108.

Sewing is easy Kiki. Singers are good machines. Once you learn, you can make it any size you want. Any color you want. Any shape you want. Just do it. You are smart.

Joann's has sewing classes near Baybrook.

They keep building Walmarts closer to me. The closest one is 15 minutes now. Time to move. I'm still trying to convince Crazy Lady. (who has a dozen sewing machines.)

Cheers!
