Do hurricanes usually take this long to pass over or is it just because Harvey is so huge?

It depends on the storm, mostly they have high winds so they hit hard and blow away. This one just lingered, which is why it dumped so much rain in one spot.

I agree I learned of the heritage of the Cajun while hubby & I were helping in LA after Hurricane Katrina hit.
