Hi All - remember the picture of the hen with the kittens? Well, I took momma cat to be spayed yesterday, and it was a journey. Keep in mind this is a feral cat and although she would let me pet her, picking her up was out of the questions. So, I went out early, in case I had problems catching her. I did manage to get her into the carrier, but she sprang out before I could slam it shut. I figured it was a lost cause at the point, but she was hungry, so she came back and settled to the food while I petted her. I got her again (scruff of the neck) and managed to get her into the carrier again, but slammed the door shut and latched it before she could get it. It sounded like the Tazmanian Devil was in the carrier for a few minutes, then all was calm.

This morning, she was in our front bathroom and I could see she had come out of the crate and eaten, had some water and used the litter box. But, I couldn't find her! She meowed and I finally located her under a piece of furniture that she had tried to crawl under, but was too big. She recognized me and came out, allowing me to pet her and sweet talk her. She was very affectionate and forgiving (yes, I worried she'd remember that took her to that PLACE!) and was purring loudly. I got her to come over to the larger crate I had placed in the bathroom with a clean towel, and she went right in and laid down. She was still pretty stiff, and they said to keep her in for a week. At least we won't have any more kitties and the three I have can be adopted out. They are so cute!
Sounds like things went well and you are still all in one piece. :highfive: :yesss:

I'm sorry, we can talk about all the stinkbugs invading my house that's a nice subject. :)

For me it starts with stink bugs and then lady bugs. Fall and spring. It's the only part of living in the country that I don't like.

x2. I have many nice chats with mine. Great people, and hatching eggs always spark conversations. Had one guy that subbed with the regular lady for a bit that had carried penguin eggs to some biggety zoo.

I'll stop by a day or so before eggs arrive and chat with my PO. And 21 days after I pick up the eggs, they find an excuse to deliver "something" to the house, so that they can get a look in the brooder.:lau

ETA: When I get my goose eggs this spring I'll have to warn them that its 28 days.
