Yes I have those. I made some pita bread a couple weeks ago.

Flat breads made on a griddle sounds like a good solution. Yeast or baking powder risen.

We love pancakes here. Fried corn cakes (johnny cakes), corn pone or whatever you call it.

I want to try a pot of beans on a rocket stove. Don't know if I can keep the heat low enough for long enough on that type stove. Looks good for boiling water and kabobs, but how do you cook soup on it?

I'm not sure how you would control the heat but maybe if you move the pot away from the direct heat it wont burn?

It's a bit tricky but you have to manage the fire and adjust the height of the pot.

Well it almost sounds like you are having fun Faith and Edwin, reminds me of how hubby and I would have been in younger years. The one good thing is you will have great stories to tell, with friends years from now. Does my heart good to see you both still have a sense of humor. Wish Hubby and I could join you to help out, but alas a teenager won't allow that at this time. We actually talked about going into where you are so you could point us to areas that might need some medical help. (We are both just nurses, but have worked in critical care all of our careers and mostly at a level 1 trama center) In 2005 we helped FEMA open medical centers in Misssissippi, for small things like cuts, blisters, tetnus shots, verious sorts of medical problems that nurses could fix before they became big problems. It was actually fun to help people and feel like you were doing good when you still weren't sure what to do for yourselves. So keep up the good work and continue to add to the "christmas list" and we will continue to do what we can on this end.
