But other than us lamenting about the weather occasionally, we got severely off topic. I figured @DwayneNLiz would mention something about the artic blasts, but guessing they were over rated. Snow is snow. Some worse than others. This is why we buy houses. Stay indoors and play on the internet with a lot of strange people.

@theuglyduckling - any update on your island? Power? Food deliveries? Mostly back to normal?

Houston is rebuilding. Contractors will have a good year. The freezes have been a boon to plumbers of late. Followed by contractors to get the sheet rock back to pretty. Housing market is good.

Thank you for sharing. I hope you just put that shovel there for perspective and used the back hoe. I was thinking about y'all this week when I was working on the garden with the ground frozen. Ice balls piled in the shady spots. Roofs dripping all over. That was a long day.

When the weather station says "brutally" anything, time to leave.

Thank you for the green picture! Is that your swimming hole? Gorgeous! We don't see clear water unless it is in a swimming pool.

We have rocks like that around here too. They are just under a couple hundred feet of mud. The mud flattens things out. No water falls, but beautiful marshes which are really just flat water falls.

lol, that is in the national forest, but yes sometimes we do swim there, there are a lot of falls/gullies in that area

i live in the lakes region and am surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes and ponds
