Have to agree I'd be more scared of a tornado than a hurricane.

It's almost that nasty time of year again for use hurricane peeps.


I hope everyone is starting to prepare again.

I am buying EXTRA toilet paper this year.

Store each roll in its own ziplock bag. Wet toilet paper is worse than useless at the worst time. This weekend is stock up tax free hurricane supplies weekend. Time to buy batteries. I wonder if toilet paper is considered essential by the government? Probably not, they make too much of it.

I stay far away from the crazy stores on these tax free days. Not worth the hassle.

Why west?

Storms generally come from the west-- not straight west but usually SW but occasionally NW. Makes me nervous not being able to see. Hate it when storms are at night. Also have a weather radio.

my preparing for the season is buying caning stuff and a crate for the chickens

My planning is to have a full gas tank. We, unlike theuglyduckling, can drive to Tennessee to visit. Can get there under a day, the good Lord and traffic willing. Been through a hurricane. Seen the aftermath. I'm not proud. Kids and Crazy Lady must be safe. (And the dogs and chickens.)
