After Katrina my Adult son was arrestedfor breaking into the trailer we were living in on our lot (forgot his keys and was locked out) NOPD appologized for arresting him but said they had no choice as it was a FEMA trailer and since the man who checked on them had complained and it was FEDERAL PROPERTY they had no choice. It got worked out , but was stressful

That's too bad, guess after I think about it I should probably have phrased my post better. I can completely understand if you are in dire straights after a disaster. If my family needed food to survive I would probably do the same. It's the looting of items like TV & electronics & stuff like that idividuals are going to try to sell that is so wrong. I have never been through a disaster personally so I guess I don't know how I would act. I am a good person, with good morals, but you never know what you will do to survive.[/QUOTE]
Totally agree, it's one thing to take bread if your kids are hungry, another to take a TV you may not even be able to use unless you are going to sell it.

Crazy thought.... DW's phone can create a wifi hotspot using 3g/4g even lte. Just thinking out loud here kiki.:caf
I'm using my 4g on my phone now. Everyone must be using it at the same time because the service is pretty crappy.

I knew I recognized you! Howdy neighbor. :frow I'm over near Kinder.

I was thinking about y'all today, wondering if you've made it safe so far. I looked on the Louisiana Layers thread but didn't see much activity so I saw this and have been trying to take it all in.

This was yesterday morning. The water got up to the very edge of the coop but didn't go inside. The creek used to be about 30 yards from the coop. Now that they are opening the gates, the chickens may have to sleep on the back porch tomorrow night.

Texting was the only thing that worked well after Katrina, to get in touched with friends and loved ones
Texting I haven't had a problem with. Dropped calls yes. And the internet/data has gotten way better since just yesterday.

Wow! That's close. We're just rain soaked at the moment. But we're on the Uskichitto river, so our problems will come later when everything drains in.
