Another hurricane story for another day, she was a cat three that did loop de loops too.

My one tropical storm experience was Typhoon Rita, 1972, on Okinawa. It was a Cat.2 storm, and rolled around for about a week before the eye passed overhead. Us Midwesterners were freaking out, while local folks were pretty blasé about it. On the US base where I lived, things were very organized, and while it was interesting, nobody was at risk because things were managed so well. Doesn't seem the same here! Mary

Watching the storm via satellite imagery. You can actually see a new eye forming up over Victoria, TX. Another rough night ahead for the Texas gulf coast.
