Galveston is good now that there is little storm surge. Funny to say,but better near the gulf where water drains than up above the bottlenecks.

Got us coming & going. News is saying 1000 year flood. Comprehend that one. Since Thursday, 3 feet of rain has come down in some places. Almost all monitoring stations reporting 2 feet around Houston. Record breaking deluge. Yea, we are number one...

Sorry for the gloom. Matches the weather. Thanks to all for the good will & prayers! Peace Kiki. The kids are safe.

Weather man here crunched some numbers. Take the trillions (yes, with a T) of gallons of water that fell (I can't even remember the exact number, much less fathom it!) and spread it across the entire state of Texas, and we'd all be sloshing around in 3 and 1/3 inches of water. The entire state! And that's just what has fallen so far! It's still raining folks!!!

Just saw a piece on local news about looters shooting at rescuers and police in Houston. The sheriff there said something about still having a jail open with plenty of room for looters. BBZZZT Wrong answer, Sheriff! The correct answer is "I've got plenty of room in the jail for looters, but I don't anticipate having to use it." Cue evil chuckle and a close up of him stroking his holster.
