Can't click like but can say thanks.Apparently it looks like it's moving inland toward Sebring & Orlando. That said there's still a lot of rain and wind out there for most of Florida.

good to hear !Hi Granny![]()
Heard from my granddaughter in Naples. There are 7 of them together in one house riding it out til they can get back to the zoo (all are zoo keepers or other animal support folks) and everyone is ok!!!The house was far enough inland to miss the storm surge and the latest report was no severe damage to the house, just a couple minor roof leaks and some water blew into the attic thru the vents. They reported that even the trees are still standing. Thank you Lord! And thank you all that added them to your prayer lists. Weather still isn't safe to get back to the zoo and there is no word on the damage there from the ride out team yet.
Me too!! Hang in there.I hate night time storms' can't see what the noises are related to. Leaves too much to the imagination.
Connie we're with you. At least in heart and spirit. Can't click like but can say thanks.
I don't remember the name. 1991 i think.rjohns, it wasn't Typhoon Rita, was it? I was there near Futema during that one in 1972. Very scary for us Midwesterners, nothing much for the local folks. A Cat. 2, wild enough for me!!! Mary
That is so sad. My house would have been full if I had been in the area. If we evacuate, our dogs go with us. Fortunately, we won't need to this time, but the future may hold a NW Florida Gulf Coast Hurricane. Dennis was the last major storm we had here with Ivan the year before that.sadly doesn't look like it. there were similar reports earlier out of Miami of over 50 dogs tied to poles. The mayor went on tv promising that they plan on doing whatever it took to track down and prosecute the owners. You could see in his face he was livid. The rescue worker beside him that had found many of them was in tears.
We are predicted to be hit hardest between 2-3 am. It is going to be a long night. Back parture has 3 feet of water, 6 hours before it gets here. We had to borrow roofing from the birds to protect our windows. I feel bad about that. But if something happens to us, who would care for them? Guilt trip. Gunna be an all nighter..
