Water from storm surge will recede; ponding will, too. Don't suppose she has a chainsaw?

It wouldn't surprise me if she had one in her truck.Water from storm surge will recede; ponding will, too. Don't suppose she has a chainsaw?
I haven't seen her out here since her last posts last night. She was expecting to lose power. So I'm right there with you in waiting and praying.I'm looking for @Farmer Connie to check in.. I don't think she's been on today?

That's wonderful news, I am sure DH will bring water and charcoal and once the family is back together all will be well.I just heard from my sister... Her house has absolutely no damage, but she's got limbs down and a couple of trees down. One, was a huge palm tree that fell away from the house, not towards it. Thankfully.
She's on a boil water order and no power, so I know when her family gets back, her husband is coming with the trailer packed full of supplies.
Hopefully someone with a boat can help her get her brother to safety. My prayers are with them.Glad your sister is ok, too! My sister in Jax Florida has some house damage and a few new leaks, but her family are all ok too.
My daughter's friend (the one with the snakes) got a call from her brother that he was trapped (by flooding I would imagine!). Anyway, she took off to go help - but if he's surrounded by water, I don't think there will be much she can do??
Gators are usually not agressive, whole family has been swimming in gator infested water in the past. Salt water Crocs are a different story. I am sure someone with a boat will help her out, just as they did in Houston. Americans have come a long way when it comes helping people in the last 12 years. The positive that came from a negative. We can all be proud of positive lessons learned. There might be gators next to Fernadina Beach, but not sure! Not sure she has a boat either, but possible. She IS pretty resourseful.![]()
With all the worry about Florida and Irma taking centre stage, how are our Houston people doing now? Have the flood waters receded? How are things going over there?
She my be busy while waiting for the power to return. Her area got hit pretty hard late last night. I'm sure her power will be out for awhile. Hope everything went as well as they possibly could in these circumstances. Last time she checked in she said her pasture was under three feet of water long before the worst of it.
