Remember when the 8.1 earthquake hit Mexico not quite two weeks ago? At that time, officials were saying they expected a 7.1 to follow. It's being said that this one is too far from the 8.1 to be related, but still weird regardless.
Ok. I know this sounds as if I am the harbinger of doom, but just read that Maria is now a Cat 5 @175 mph winds and 906 mbs. Looks like the eye is going to go right over the middle of PR. It is concerning that the eye/eyewall may pass right in the area I believe @theuglyduckling home is located. Hope I am wrong and sincerely hope she has gone to a shelter.
Even so, officials are telling everyone that lives in a previously Irma damaged home, wooden homes, mobile homes and those using tarps as protection(??) - to evacuate to a better structure or one of the designated locations/shelters - or die. His words - not mine.
Those poor folks might not have anything to go home to. From the articles, they are saying PR cannot afford being hit by Maria - but I believe that cow has already left the barn.![]()
I don't watch much tv...now that I have it back....LOLRemember when the 8.1 earthquake hit Mexico not quite two weeks ago? At that time, officials were saying they expected a 7.1 to follow. It's being said that this one is too far from the 8.1 to be related, but still weird regardless.
I'm with you on this, Kikis. This is a horrible situation for anyone living on any of the islands right now.
I don't have satellite or cable tv right now. Getting world news from local channels is the pits as they barely cover anything at all. Most of my tv news comes from the Tokyo (NHK-WLD) channel and some from MPT (Maryland Public TV).I don't watch much tv...now that I have it back....LOL
