Oh I won't get into whether or not it's climate change. lol

I will say the Ring of Fire volcanoes have been around a LONG LONG time - and I am sure like everything else, they have periods of dormancy and then high activity.

Just like solar flares/sun spots and I don't think the earth controls that at all.

I do agree much of this is our world continuing to change and we have to go with the flow

Kikis - it's ok. Really, it is. If I had satellite TV at the moment, I would probably be glued to it 24/7.

Well, I bet when that section gets more active than normal, it probably heats up all that ice. Hmmm

I think where the Antarctic is supposedly melting is where the volcanoes are. Haven't looked at it that closely, but that was the impression I got when I did briefly look at it.

Maria making landfall in PR right now. Currently classified as Cat 4 with 155 mph. Cat 5 starts at 160 mph, so not much difference. According to reports, this will be the strongest PR landfall since 1932 during the Great Depression.

River gauges already at flood stage. Concerns that existing debris from Irma will become "flying bullets".

Yes, it is on my list of things to look up today. And I want to see what they say as to how the Volcanoes affect the ice.

I want to see it too! I did watch (or maybe read) one about the New Madrid fault lines a few years ago. Fascinating, albeit scarey stuff.
