We have those white opossum here in DE....although I'm not sure about the black ears. I've never paid attention. I'm usually running the other way! Of course they are not as bad as going into your shed and having a skunk pop out at you from underneath.

hey had a pet skunk stinker found him and his brother after our hounds killed Mom skunk
lost squirt when he fell in a glass of milk and could not get out out stink came to be my best bud would come in each morning for scrambled eggs played with the dogs if they are not threatened they do not smell bad but when he was two he went for the ladies never saw him again

I'm told we also have coyote and a cougar....I've been hearing the cougar thing for years now. I still don't believe it.
There are cougars here. DNR will one day say no there isn't. Another day they brag about trying to re-introduce the cats into the area.

What really gets me is how they claim there are no cougars in Washington, Frederick, or Carroll Counties. It always amazes me how these cats read road signs and know where all the county lines are. - SMDH

Lordy,if anybody wants skunks I know how to get them. Couple of years ago i was putting this birdseed in my feeders that had whole unshelled peanuts in it, birds loved it!
Well one night I heard a commotion and turned on the porch light and the yard was full of skunks every size all eating peanuts. I bet there was thirty skunks, kind of neat but a little concerning too.:)

Morning folks. Got word late last night that the SILs family and neighborhood are all ok. Also heard from a friend who works at the airport. Same report. Lots of wind damage, no power, no internet, no phone service for the most part. SILs aunt was able to drive into town and managed to send a text message. My friend at the airport managed to get an email out on a government system. Hopefully, we'll hear from our friend sooner than later.:fl
I hope so, too rjohns. I am concerned that she lives in one of the more "isolated areas" where it may be months before electric is restored, let alone cell service. It is a mess over there (understatement, I know).

Noooo I shut the door real careful when I did finally peek out, had to look at them and hubs had to look because I told him his kinpeople were in the yard. Luckily nobody sprayed but I did have to quit using that birdseed. :)

Ah yes....names are all the same but it's how you say them. We have Newark Delaware (where I live) and Newark NJ. But you say New-ark here in DE but in NJ it's New-erk. Don't say New-erk in DE....:smack

We have so many indian names here that your tongue could wrap around also
skikomish, Seattle, Mossyrock...
