Same town - kinda not really. We both live around Houston. But so do 5 million other souls. Is living an hour away from each other in the same town? Kinda like saying saying we both live in Delaware. Close, but not neighbors. Houston is huge! Texas is huger!

We are probably closer to 30 minutes away from each other.

If you did live in Delaware...you would probably know everyone else....it only takes 2.5 hours to drive through.

So it's kinda like someone saying "Oh, you live in Ontario! Do you know xxx?" No, lady. Ontario makes Texas look tiny.
